“All Together Now! ~ The Mid-Island Edition”

All Together Now ~ The Mid-Island Edition

Thinking globally, acting (and singing and dancing) locally!

Western Edge Theatre is one of seven central Vancouver Island performing arts organizations about to participate in an extraordinary global event.

Music Theatre International’s All Together Now! features thousands of theatre companies from around the world, all performing numbers from the MTI catalogue of musical theatre songs over one weekend, starting Nov. 12th.

The Mid-Island Edition will be performed onstage in the Malaspina Theatre at Vancouver Island University and also streamed live. Featuring some of the area's top musical theatre talent, this exuberant revue includes songs from Rent, Les Misérables, Into the Woods, Matilda, Hairspray, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Fiddler on the Roof, Once on This Island, Little Shop of Horrors, Mamma Mia! and many more beloved musicals.

In addition to Western Edge, participating groups are Malaspina Theatre at Vancouver Island University, Schmooze Productions, Qualicum Beach School of Dance, NDSS Dance, Satyr Players, and the OV Arts Centre. Nanaimo director and playwright Ward Norcutt directs Western Edge's two contributions, the sweet ballad "Somewhere That's Green" from Little Shop of Horrors and the classic Sit Down, You're Rocking the Boat from "Guys and Dolls".

Performances are November 12, 13 & 14 at 7:30 pm, with matinees November 13 & 14 at 2 pm
