Script, artist, and designer submissions

Play Submissions

Western Edge Theatre fosters talent from Vancouver Island and BC and are always keen to receive new play submissions and proposals. Artistic director Brianna Hamilton receives submissions on an ongoing basis.

To propose a script submission for production consideration, please read the instructions carefully and send the following information:

  • A one-paragraph synopsis of the play
  • Background about its development or production to date
  • A cast breakdown, including character age range and specific casting requirements or suggestions
  • Short bios of the playwright(s), and key creative collaborators (if applicable)
  • A short excerpt from the script (10 pages max.)

We also appreciate seeing new work on its feet, so please feel free to invite us to any of your productions or send videos of productions or rehearsals.

If we are interested in further information, we will request a full-length script. Please be aware that due to our various workloads throughout the production season, response times can vary greatly, however we strive to be in touch within a three month window. We appreciate your patience.

All submissions can be emailed to brianna@westernedge.org
