Western Edge Theatre cancels performances of “4000 Miles”

In response to public health concerns regarding the Coronavirus, Nanaimo’s Western Edge Theatre has cancelled performances of the play 4000 Miles, which was scheduled to open March 20th.

“Like many theatres around the world, we have made the decision not to perform at this time,” says Executive Director Frank Moher. “It’s a big disappointment to us, and especially the artists and technicians involved. But, of course, we must prioritize the health of our company members, our audience, and our community.

“We hope this is just a postponement, and that we’ll be able to return to producing the play once circumstances permit.”

Ticket-holders will be contacted with options to receive credit for a future production, donate their ticket in return for a tax receipt, or receive a refund. Questions may be directed to admin@westernedge.org.

“We thank our audiences for their patience and loyalty,” says Moher, “and look forward to returning to a much happier role: Entertaining and inspiring you.”
